Australia’s Star Entertainment Group Limited has confirmed the appointment of former MGM China CEO Grant Bowie and experienced legal and compliance officer Brooke Lindsay as non-executive directors after both received regulatory and ministerial approval. The appointments were first outlined in April pending the receipt of such approval.
In a filing, Star also announced another new non-executive appointment with Donna Isaacs set to join upon receipt of the same approvals. Isaacs – described as a “private investor and community leader with experience in financial markets and risk, private investments, and community and philanthropic activities in Australia and the United States” – will act as an observer to Star‘s board in the meantime.
According to Star, the official addition of Bowie and Lindsay means 50% of the company’s Board of Directors is now comprised of independent directors.
Star earlier this week reported a AU$307.3 million (US$220 million) statutory net loss for the year ended 30 June 2026, but said trading conditions had shown some improvement in July and August as it looks to emerge from the crushing regulatory and operational challenges of recent years.
