Crown Melbourne has confirmed the appointment of Erin Lightfoot as a new non-executive director of the board.
The company’s Chairman, Martin Pakula, stated in a social media post that he was excited to welcome Lightfoot to the board, adding, “Erin brings impressive experience in governance, leadership and transformation, along with a strong commitment to integrity and long‑term value.
“Her appointment further strengthens the Board as we continue our ongoing transformation and re‑establishment of Crown Melbourne’s place in the fabric of this great city.
“I look forward to Erin’s contribution as Crown embarks on an exciting new chapter, with the major redevelopment of this iconic entertainment destination now underway.”
Lightfoot describes herself as an “experienced and progressive CEO, Advisor and Board Director [with a] a long standing and varied career across the private and public sectors of tourism, immersive entertainment, events, marketing and advertising industries.”
She is also a director of strategic management, planning and advisory business Lightfoot i1 and is a board member of Zoos Victoria.
Crown’s board structure – once dominated by the board of parent company Crown Resorts – has undergone a transformation since the Finkelstein Inquiry of 2021, which demanded power be handed back to property level operations.
Among the recommendations of the Finkelstein Report were that the Crown Melbourne board be comprised primarily of non-executive directors with reduced dependance on parent-company decision making and the ability to better focus on Crown Melbourne’s regulatory obligations.
With the group having since returned to suitability in Victoria, New South Wales and Perth 2024, Crown reported in October a net profit after tax of AU$142 million (US$93.7 million) and EBITDA exceeding AU$450 million (US$297 million) for the year ended 30 June 2025 – its first profit since FY20.
