Crown Resorts announced Friday the appointment of veteran US casino executive Ken Janssen as the new CEO of Crown Sydney, subject to regulatory approvals.
The appointment of Janssen, who brings more than 20 years of global gaming and hospitality experience to the company, follows the sudden departure of Stanford Le in March for family reasons.
In unveiling Janssen, Crown noted that he has spent more than a decade leading major casino resorts in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, with his senior leadership roles including integrated resort properties such as Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, The Cromwell, Bally’s Atlantic City and Caesars Atlantic City.
He is, Crown said, recognized for driving operational improvement, shaping strategy and delivering strong commercial outcomes. He also brings extensive experience in guest experience leadership, having previously overseen guest experience functions at Caesars Entertainment across a portfolio of more than 50 US properties.
“[Ken’s] global integrated resort experience, combined with a genuine focus on people and guest experience, makes him exceptionally well placed to lead Crown Sydney,” said Crown Resorts CEO, David Tsai.
“Ken’s leadership style, clarity of communication and commitment to team culture will play a key role in strengthening Crown Sydney’s performance and positioning it for continued success.”
Janssen added, “Crown Sydney is a world-class destination and I’m looking forward to working with the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences and support Crown’s ambition to be a leader in premium entertainment.
Janssen is expected to commence in the role in early June, pending regulatory approvals.
