The Aussie Millions is back with a bang, with the AU$1,500 Opening Event, which kicked off on Friday, attracting a record field of 2,144 players.

Across four Day 1 flights, which included a quickfire turbo Day 1D flight on Sunday evening, the Crown Melbourne poker room was packed to the rafters with the final field easily exceeding the previous record of 1,752 players for this event and almost tripling the $1 million guarantee with a prize pool of $2,787,200.

IAG understands that the Crown poker room was so busy on Sunday that a Main Event satellite was cancelled because there were no tables available.

Sunday also saw the first Aussie Millions trophy of 2026 given away, with Sascha Manns taking out the $2,500 H.O.R.S.E event for $43,200.

The 64 entries into this event represented another record, with Manns topping a field that boasted WSOP champs Michael Mizrachi and Joe Hachem, Australian Poker Hall of Fame members Van Marcus, Gary Benson and David Gorr – the latter having won the Aussie Millions in 2011 – and mixed game crushers Jarred Graham and Ash Gupta.
