The 2026 Aussie Millions Poker Championship will not only represent a long-awaited return after six years, but also the first time the iconic series has been held in Crown Melbourne’s new Level 1 poker room.

For the entirety of its previous existence, the Aussie Millions – and Crown Poker in general – was famous not only for the quality of cards being played but also its unique basement-style location: down a few escalators and in a renovated section of car park. It was a favorite of long-time players but had undoubtedly served its purpose by the time the last series wrapped up in February 2020.

The new room, first opened in November 2023, provides a far more luxurious setting and one more interconnected with the amenities Crown Melbourne has to offer.

During the Aussie Millions, which get underway from this Friday, the main poker room will hold 48 poker tables plus another 21 tables in an adjacent site, which will serve as the main area for the series.

From here, players will have direct access to a Crown Rewards desk for sign-up and a cashier for registration. Lumia Bar also stands in the heart of the room, allowing observers to relax close to the action, while there are dozens of F&B options within a very short walk.

Daniel Trubiano, Crown’s Table Games Casino Manager, explains that the room is designed to provide a far more comfortable and convenient experience for players.

“[Relocating] was all about right-sizing the floor while giving players a bit more ambient lighting – taking them out of the shadows into a nicer, more expensive room,” he said, “We spent a lot of money renovating that Level 1 space a long time ago and we thought we could capture that with a really great, designated, destination area for with.

“We wanted to give them a good space because our poker players always turn up, no matter what, and it’s always going to get used.

“The relocation [in 2023] coincided with the return of tournament poker [post-COVID] and we had the idea that if we were going to make the move, we may as well do it right. Plus, we knew there would be bigger and better things ahead in terms of our poker offering.”

The 2026 Aussie Millions runs from 24 April to 10 May 2026, featuring a total of 18 events plus multiple satellites and an array of cash games.
