The Aussie Millions returns to Crown Melbourne for the first time in six years this week, with the long-awaited series kicking off on Friday.
The 2026 Aussie Millions features 18 events across 17 days of action from 24 April to 10 May, culminating in the prestigious AU$10,600 buy-in Main Event. But attending the Aussie Millions isn’t just about the poker, it’s also about all the great attractions and experiences the city of Melbourne has to offer.

And IAG knows this as well as anyone: our CEO Andrew lived there for 13 years and our Managing Editor Ben has visited regularly for more than 20 years now!
In fact, given its reputation for sizzling hot summers and icy cold winters, the April to May period is one of the very best times of year to visit this fascinating and varied city.
Melbourne is renowned as Australia’s cultural city, and you won’t have to wander far to enjoy a taste. It is arguably the coffee center of the world, with exceptional barista coffee available at any of the hundreds of cafés that dot the city streets.
Grab a latte and walk around the famous Hosier Lane and surrounds to enjoy the iconic graffiti art that is synonymous with Melbourne’s network of laneways.

If graffiti isn’t your thing, some more classic artworks can be viewed at the National Gallery of Victoria, located right near Crown in Southbank, or the Melbourne Museum in Carlton. The, finish the day with a sunset walk along the river at Southbank – right outside Crown – and an evening drink at Crown’s recently launched California-style hotspot Marmont!

Built a healthy stack in the opening flight of the Aussie Millions Main Event and have a few days off to unwind? Why not take a day trip to one of Victoria’s iconic holiday spots? A drive (and overnight stay) down to the Great Ocean Road offers some of the most spectacular views anywhere in the world.

Or, if you feel like tasting some sumptuous vino, then head off to the Yarra Valley for a stroll through the vineyards while tasting the latest Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. For something a little different, why not head over to Philip Island – long-time home of the MotoGP – and watch the fairy penguins parade at dusk.

Of course, Crown Melbourne has plenty to offer in its own right, including over 40 bars and restaurants – among them the globally renowned Nobu, Neil Perry’s Spice Temple and recently launched Indian favorite Kolkata Cricket Club. There are also high-end retail, cabaret club Piper’s Playhouse, Village Cinemas, indoor bowling and mini golf!
There is no shortage of options to keep you entertained throughout the Aussie Millions.
