Australia’s Star Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of experienced legal and compliance officer Brooke Lindsay as a non-executive director of the company, pending regulatory approval.
Lindsay will sit as an observer of the Board of Directors before joining once all regulatory and ministerial approvals have been obtained, the company explained.
“I would like to welcome Brooke to the Board and look forward to working with her to assist in delivering our strategic objectives and creating a sustainable future for The Star,” said Chairman Soo Kim.
According to Star, Lindsay brings more than two decades of experience advising boards and executive leadership on governance, international expansion, strategic investments and regulatory strategy across global technology and telecommunications businesses.
She previously led the global legal and compliance function for e& (formerly Etisalat), a multinational technology and investment group operating across multiple markets and jurisdictions.
Lindsay’s experience includes complex cross-border M&A, major corporate investments, regulatory engagement and governance in highly regulated, fast-evolving sectors.
Her appointment comes off the back of a significant week for Star, which completed the sale of its 50% stake in Destination Brisbane Consortium to its Hong Kong Partners and secured refinancing from US-based Whitehawk Capital Partners.
