The Aussie Millions Poker Championship, taking place at Crown Melbourne from 24 April to 10 May, has announced reigning WSOP Main Event champion and recently inducted Poker Hall of Fame member Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi as its latest Official Ambassador.
Following on from the recent unveiling of 2005 WSOP Main Event winner Joe Hachem as an ambassador, Mizrachi is undoubtedly the man-of-the-moment in world poker, having last year achieved a phenomenal double by taking out the WSOP’s $50k Poker Players Championship (PPC) followed by the Main Event 18 days later.
The PPC, now won by Mizrachi a record four times, is widely considered to be the world’s most prestigious tournament due to its blend of multiple poker variants and the quality of the field, while the WSOP Main Event is the world’s most famous.
Winning either is extremely challenging, but to do both in the same year was previously deemed all but impossible. In doing so. Mizrachi also achieved another first by being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame on the spot.
As Aussie Millions ambassador, Mizrachi will represent both Aussie Millions and Crown Resorts throughout the 2026 Championship Series – reinforcing Crown’s commitment to delivering world‑class poker experiences in Australia.
“I’m honored to join the Aussie Millions family,” Mizrachi said. “This tournament has always been one of the most iconic stops on the global poker calendar and I’m excited to help bring its next chapter to life.”
Crown Melbourne’s EGM of Gaming, Harold Charalampos Tsakmaklis, added, “Michael’s competitive brilliance, global recognition and passion for the game make him a perfect fit for Aussie Millions. We are excited to welcome him and look forward to an incredible year ahead.”
Long regarded as the Southern Hemisphere’s premier poker festival, the Aussie Millions will return with a full schedule of marquee events, high‑stakes tournaments and strong international participation in 2026.
