The Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) – the peak representative group for the Australian gaming industry – has announced former government media specialist Daniel Maloney as its new General Manager of Policy, Strategy, and Industry Relations.
In a statement, GTA Chair Anthony Ball said Maloney had been appointed to the role following an extensive search and rigorous competitive selection process.
“Daniel brings over a decade of significant experience in policy development, strategic planning and industry engagement, and his leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission while strengthening our relationships across the sector,” Ball said.
“We are confident that Daniel’s expertise will help GTA navigate the emerging regulatory challenges we are likely to face in the years ahead.”

Maloney previously served in the NSW Minns Labor Government as a Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director to the NSW Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections.
GTA CEO Jinesh Patel described Maloney as an accomplished policy and corporate affairs professional given his experience in director-level positions across policy, industry, stakeholder engagement and media roles.
“We warmly welcome Daniel to the GTA team and look forward to him spearheading substantial initiatives at both the state and national level that will serve to highlight the many positives of our very exciting industry,” Patel said.
As well as its work representing the industry, the GTA is also organizer of the Australasian Gaming Expo, held in Sydney each August.
