Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has become the first hospitality and entertainment group in Macau to accept WeChat Pay throughout its properties.
Announcing a new partnership with WeChat and ICBC (Macau), Galaxy will commence with offering WeChat Pay at 136 outlets across its three Macau properties – Galaxy Macau, StarWorld and Broadway Macau.
The move is aimed at providing more convenient transactions for mainland Chinese visitors to Macau, who overwhelmingly prefer to pay with e-wallets such as WeChat Pay. Around 76% of people in mainland China use mobile wallets when travelling.
The outlets where WeChat Pay will be available include:
– Hotels The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Banyan Tree Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, Galaxy Hotel, Broadway Hotel and StarWorld Hotel
– Fine dining restaurants such as Lai Heen, 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant and Yamazato
– Café de Paris Monte-Carlo and Passion by Gérard Dubois
– Urban Kitchen, Festiva and Temptations and Broadway’s food street
– China Rouge, The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge and Macallan Bar
– The Broadway Theatre Box Office and Kiosks
– The Banyan Tree Spa, ESPA by The Ritz-Carlton, Macau and Foot Hub
– UA Cinema Director’s Club and Jinmen Lounge
