Global test lab Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has announced the appointment of Gavin Isaacs – former CEO of Scientific Games and more recently Entain – as an advisor to its Board of Directors, pending regulatory review and approval.
Isaacs will serve alongside CVC, represented by Alexander Heerkens Thijssen, Matt Turner and Zach Kelly, as well as GLI President & CEO James Maida, the company said in a Monday release.
CVC, a renowned global investment firm, acquired a sizable stake in GLI late last year as part of GLI’s leadership succession plan, aiming to support the group’s continued growth and long-term development.
“I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board,” said Maida. “The board and I as CEO have ambitious plans that will further propel GLI globally over the next several years, and Gavin’s decades of experience, vision, and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward.
Isaacs added, “I am excited to join the Board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years.”
Isaacs is described as a seasoned CEO and board director with more than 25 years of leadership experience across the global gaming, iGaming, sports betting and lottery industries.
He served as President of Aristocrat between 1998 and 2006, as COO of Bally Technologies from 2006 to 2011 and CEO of Shuffle Master from 2011 to 2013. He later served as President and CEO of Scientific Games. More recently he spent a short stint as CEO of Entain from September 2024 until February 2025.
GLI said Isaacs has built a career distinguished by driving “transformational growth, overseeing strategic mergers and acquisitions totaling over US$10 billion and delivering consistent shareholder value through both organic expansion and successful turnarounds.”
