Light & Wonder has announced a “leadership transition” within its social media arm SciPlay, with Josh Wilson to step down as CEO as of 30 October 2026 – the conclusion of his current contract term. The company said it has commenced a search for Wilson’s successor.
Oliver Chow, Light & Wonder’s Chief Financial Officer, will assume executive oversight of SciPlay in the interim, working alongside the entity’s remaining leadership team which will continue to lead the business day to day. Chow will also continue in his role as group-wide CFO.
In an announcement, Light & Wonder stressed that SciPlay remains a distinct reporting segment of the company and that there is no change to its strategy for the social casino business or to its portfolio of social casino brands.
“Josh has made a substantial contribution to SciPlay over more than two decades, taking the business through its initial public offering and building a portfolio of leading social casino titles alongside a strong team and culture,” said Matt Wilson, Light & Wonder’s President and CEO.
“On behalf of the Board and the leadership team, I thank him for that contribution and wish him well. We are taking the time to appoint the right leader for SciPlay’s next phase. In the meantime, Oliver will work closely with the talented and experienced SciPlay leadership team, whose deep knowledge of the business, brands and players will provide important continuity as we move through this transition. Our confidence in the social casino category, in SciPlay’s brands and in the opportunity to grow direct-to-consumer remains unchanged.”
