Kaban Hotel and Casino Boracay will hold a soft opening to guests this week, representing the first hotel-casino destination on the holiday island ahead of its planned Grand Opening in October.
According to a report by the Manila Bulletin, the soft opening will take place tomorrow, 16 September, with the property forming part of a broader 23-hectare master-planned development by Golden TW Realty and Development Corp.
The six-story complex will comprise a 2,000 square meter gaming floor licensed by PAGCOR and offering slot machines, table games and ETGs, plus 88 guest rooms, seven specialty dining options, a spa, outdoor pool deck, VIP lounge, dedicated children’s play area, a lobby café and a rooftop bar.
The Manila Bulletin cited Kevin Wong, President and CEO of Kaban, as stating, “Kaban is more than a destination. It is our promise to bring world-class entertainment and heartfelt Filipino hospitality together, creating a place where culture, leisure and celebration come together.”
Developer Golden TW is looking to transform the broader complex into a commercial and leisure hub, with its lifestyle shopping mall Boracay Central also scheduled to open in by the end of this year.
Around 40% of Kaban’s initial workforce is said to be sourced from the surrounding province of Aklan.
