Wynn’s local joint venture partnership in the UAE has broken ground on a new luxury hotel and residency estate located alongside its US$5.1 billion integrated resort project Wynn Al Marjan Island.
First announced in November, Janu Marjan Island is described as the second joint venture between Wynn Resorts and master developer Marjan. It will comprise 132 hotel rooms plus a limited number of residence and standalone villas.
In a social media post on Monday, Marjan said the groundbreaking of Janu Al Marjan Island “marks another significant milestone in this journey, reinforcing Al Marjan Island’s evolution into a globally recognized destination for luxury hospitality, exceptional waterfront living and world-class experiences.
“The development will introduce a complementary luxury offering that further enhances the destination’s appeal to international visitors, residents and investors alike.”
It added that Janu Al Marjan Island is scheduled to open in early 2029, with project construction partner Aman Group to bring its contemporary hospitality brand to Ras Al Khaimah.
In a post of its own, Wynn Al Marjan Island said the new development would bring together a luxury hotel, branded residences and wellness-led experiences.
“As the island continues to attract world-class hospitality brands and investment partners, the collective vision for Al Marjan Island as a globally recognized waterfront destination becomes clearer by the day,” it stated.
Wynn Al Marjain island remains on track for a 2027 opening, although parent company Wynn Resorts has flagged a “moderate delay” due to the impact of the ongoing war in Iran.
