The joint venture partner of Hong Kong-listed gaming investor Century Entertainment International Holdings in a Philippines online gaming business lost its PAGCOR accreditation three months ago, Inside Asian Gaming has learned.

PAGCOR reached out on Tuesday after IAG previously reported on information filed by Century Entertainment that claimed it had launched a new online gaming platform at seven gaming venues across the Philippines under the latest phase of its joint venture with Philippines-based World Platinum Technologies Inc (WPT). Century Entertainment stated at the time that it had in April signed a deployment agreement with WPT – a company it described as a PAGCOR-accredited service provider that is licensed to provide electronic gaming machines (EGMs), gaming content and related services to licensed gaming operators in the Philippines.

However, PAGCOR has now clarified that WPT is “no longer an accredited Gaming System Administrator (GSA) of PAGCOR, as its GSA accreditation has already been cancelled in April 2026.”

The regulator did not reveal its reason for cancelling WPT’s accreditation.

PAGCOR has, however, been vocal about the implementation of its new framework for B2B suppliers to the Philippines’ regulated online gaming industry and earlier this year announced a 31 March 2026 deadline for all suppliers to be fully accredited. In doing so, it stated that any suppliers who did not meet this deadline would be deemed unauthorized.

Century Entertainment and WPT first launched their joint venture business – of which Century Entertainment holds a 51% stake and WPT 49% – in July 2025 with the purpose of developing and distributing WPT’s gaming system platforms and related content in the Asia-Pacific region.

Last month the company said the platform was now operartional at seven gaming venues located in Parañaque, Calamba, Laguna, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija with 27 games deployed.

Century Entertainment’s move into online gaming comes after the company last year terminated an agreement to operate gaming tables at a casino in Cambodia’s Dara Sakor. That agreement had been closely tied to the company’s Chairman and CEO – long-time Macau junket identity Ng Man Sun – who stepped down from his positions in late May 2025 before returning in April 2026.

The company has, however, flagged the possibility of operating gaming tables at a casino in Vietnam instead, revealing late last year that it had signed a non-binding letter of intent in such regard.

Century Entertainment was formerly known as Amax International Holdings, which under Ng’s watch – and thanks to his connections to Dr Stanley Ho – was a significant player in Macau’s junket industry. Amax also held a near-25% stake in the Greek Mythology casino which it wrote-off as an asset in 2019, some four years after Macau’s DICJ ordered the casino’s closure.
