Gaming industry supplier TECNET says it has donated various ICT equipment, including 25 computer sets and routers, to Bankal National High School in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu – transforming an idle computer laboratory that had previously remained unused due to the absence of computers into a functional learning facility and expanding students’ access to digital education.
The donation forms part of TECNET’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program – “Small Actions. Lasting Impact.” – which was established three years ago to create a positive and sustainable impact through initiatives focused on community support, education, youth empowerment and environmental stewardship.
According to TECNET, education has emerged as a key priority within its CSR program this year. The donation is expected to expand access to technology-enabled learning for more than 5,000 students at Bankal National High School, one of Lapu-Lapu City’s largest public secondary schools, which runs two daily shifts to serve its large enrollment.
While TECNET’s CSR efforts in previous years focused on supporting local football clubs in Cebu to foster youth development through sports, its latest initiative reflects a growing commitment to education. By donating ICT equipment, the company aims to improve access to digital learning resources and equip students with essential ICT competencies for the future.
Representatives from TECNET attended a modest yet meaningful turnover ceremony at the school, where they were welcomed by the administration and faculty. During the event, both parties signed the turnover agreement, while TECNET reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring and supporting the donated equipment to help ensure its long-term use and benefit to the school community.
Speaking during the turnover ceremony, Eren Kereci, Vice President of Sales & Operations at TECNET, said the company hopes the donation will help create opportunities for students pursuing technology-related careers.

“After spending more than twelve years in the Philippines, I’ve come to admire how resilient and hardworking Filipinos are,” Kereci said. “Young people here have tremendous potential and sometimes what makes the biggest difference is simply having access to the right tools. If these ICT equipment help even a handful of students discover a passion for technology or pursue careers in engineering, software, or other technical fields, then this project has already achieved something meaningful.”
Tecnet said it is already planning a follow-up initiative for the school, with preparations underway to help equip Bankal National High School’s speech laboratory, which currently remains without equipment.
Kereci also expressed hope that more organizations would consider supporting educational initiatives across the country.
“We hope this initiative inspires more companies, especially within the gaming industry, to support education in the communities they serve,” he said. “PAGCOR’s long-standing commitment to public education has been a source of inspiration for us, and we were honored to learn that one of Bankal National High School’s buildings was made possible through PAGCOR’s support. When government agencies and private organizations align behind a common purpose, they can create meaningful and lasting impact that goes well beyond any single contribution.”
According to TECNET, the donation will enhance the school’s ICT capabilities, improve students’ access to digital learning tools, and empower teachers to deliver more effective technology-based instruction. As preparations begin for a follow-up project, the company said it aims to build a long-term partnership with Bankal National High School, helping equip future generations of students with the digital skills needed to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
