Kangwon Land, the only casino in South Korea at which locals are permitted to gamble, has called for proposals from local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the technology space with the goal of enhancing the manufacturing process for its slot machine and casino equipment arm, KL Saberi.
The call falls under Kangwon Land’s “2026 Integrated Shared Growth Project” and represents a public-private partnership initiative designed to enhance competitiveness in the domestic and international casino equipment manufacturing markets.
Under the initiative, Kangwon Land will – by way of offering R&D cost subsidies, expert consulting, securing stable order volumes and expanding sales channels – provide support to SMEs that possess outstanding technology but struggle to enter the market.
Kangwon Land also hopes to benefit by reducing R&D costs for new products and strengthening the competitiveness of its in-house manufactured machine products.
“We will do our best to create shared value with excellent domestic SMEs and achieve import substitution effects, while simultaneously advancing into the global casino market,” said Park Young-shin, Head of the Shared Growth Office.
