City of Dreams Manila’s charitable arm, Melco Resorts (Philippines) Foundation Corporation (MRP Foundation), has donated Php9.9 million (US$167,345) worth of security equipment and vehicles to the National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO) in a recent ceremonial turnover.
Undertaken with the support of regulator PAGCOR, the donation aims to support the police office’s mandate to ensure peace and order, public safety and internal security, Melco said.
The donation consisted of a Foton Tornado truck with telescopic crane, two Toyota Hiace GL Grandia, 10 mobile outposts, two mobile generators with trailer, laptops and various types of cameras, communications and recording equipment. These, Melco added, aim to strengthen law enforcement, public safety, internal security and special police operations in the areas under the Entertainment City Estate Management Inc (ECEMI) and all others under the jurisdiction of the NCRPO.
The MRP Foundation ceremonial turnover was led by Chairman and President Clarence Chung, Vice President Armin Raquel Santos, Corporate Secretary and Treasurer Marissa Academia and Assistant Treasurer Riin Meri.
The NCRPO Chief for Regional Logistics and Research Development Division PCol. Ireneo Dalogdog received the donation, which was attended by PAGCOR Assistant Vice President for Gaming and Licensing Development Department Vina Claudette Oca, City of Dreams Manila Property President Geoff Andres, ECEMI General Manager John Dioquino, Pasay and Parañaque chiefs of police and other NCRPO officials
“We are thankful for the opportunity to contribute to PNP-NCRPO’s vital mandate to uphold the safety and security of our community and other areas of their jurisdiction,” said Chung.
“We are equally grateful to PAGCOR for their utmost support to this endeavor, which along with other foundation initiatives, affirm our commitment towards nation-building.”
Melco said the donation to the NCRPO is one of MRP Foundation’s various undertakings focused on environment, education, culture and health programs in conjunction with the mandate of PAGCOR.
