Macau’s National Day Golden Week holiday period has now attracted over a million visitor arrivals.
According to provisional data released by the Public Security Police Force overnight, approximately 131,000 tourists entered Macau on the sixth day of the seven-day holiday, taking the total to around 1,050,000.
As per Macao Government Tourism Office data, a total of 920,456 tourists had entered Macau during the first five days of Golden Week. The peak day for entries was the fourth day on Sunday, with 210,276 tourist arrivals, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.6%. On the fifth day on Monday, there were approximately 169,631 arrivals, a significant year-on-year rise of 51.9% – primarily due to a lower base figure last year caused by typhoon disruptions.
Combining the provisional data from the Public Security Police Force, the total number of entries during the past six days has exceeded 1.05 million.
Tuesday saw around 713,000 border crossings in each direction – including both locals and visitors – with the majority of those entries through the Border Gate, followed by the Hengqin Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge checkpoints.
Today represents the seventh and final day of the official seven-day holiday period.
