Popular reality competition show MasterChef Asia has filmed its latest season in Macau, with the new 10-episode series premiering this week across Southeast Asia.
In partnership with the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the season features high-stakes culinary challenges at iconic locations across Macau, including local street markets and Michelin-starred restaurants in luxury integrated resorts. The show brings together 10 talented contestants from different countries and regions, including Macau’s Sandy Tang, who was the runner-up in MasterChef UK 2020.
The judging panel consists of three renowned chefs: Edward Lee, “Pam” Pichaya S. and Kelvin Cheung. Additionally, guest judges Ken Chong, Executive Chef at the Palace Garden restaurant at Grand Lisboa Palace, and Julien Tongourian, Head Chef of Michelin-starred Robuchon au Dôme in Macau, will also appear on the show.
Macau, designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017, will celebrate its 10th anniversary as a Creative City in 2027. The upcoming series not only highlights Macau’s dynamic gastronomic culture but also sets the stage for its milestone celebrations next year.
As part of the highly anticipated return of MasterChef Asia after a decade, this season showcases Macau’s unique blend of culinary influences, rich cultural heritage and its development as a world-class dining destination.
