Hong Kong-listed Shin Hwa World Ltd narrowed its loss from HK$244.4 million (US$31.2 million) a year earlier to HK$68.3 million (US$8.7 million) in the first six months of 2026, aided by a strong increase in both gaming and non-gaming revenues at its Korean integrated resort Jeju Shinhwa World.

Releasing its 1H26 financial results on Friday, Shin Hwa World said its Les A Casino – formerly known as Landing Casino – recorded net revenue of HK$71.0 million (US$9.1 million) for the period, up 14.6% thanks to an increase in non-rolling volumes. Despite this, segment loss for the period grew from HK$59.6 million (US$7.6 million) to HK$66.4 million (US$8.5 million).

IAG understand that Les A Casino, which boasts 179 gaming tables and 65 slot machines and electronic gaming machines across 5,500 square meters of gaming space, has turned to international poker tournaments as a core means of driving visitation to the premises.

On the non-gaming side, Shin Hwa World reported a 20.9% increase in revenue to HK$362.6 million (US$46.2 million), mainly derived from hotels, food and beverage services, MICE events, theme park attractions, water parks, merchandise sales and leases of retail spaces within the resort. It said this primarily attributable to the group’s “refined sales and marketing strategy” together with the increase in the number of tourists to Jeju in the first half of 2026.  Segment loss therefore narrowed from HK$130.0 million (US$16.6 million) in 1H25 to HK$15.9 million (US$2.0 million).

Detailing its future prospects, the company said, “Jeju Shin Hwa World provides a premium all-inclusive destination that combines adventurous entertainment with world-class relaxation, offering joy and variety under one roof.

“The group will continue to elevate lifestyle offerings. Visitors may enjoy authentic Ningbo cuisine at Yongfu, a Michelin one-star restaurant from Shanghai, as well as JSW’s premium buffet renowned for its seafood and meticulously selected dishes. In addition to the golf academy, visitors may also take part in a personalized running training program with professional coach at Jeju Shin Hwa World, offering a customized running experience surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and the resort’s unique views.

“These attractions have strengthened the overall customer satisfaction, and it is anticipated that continuous facility enhancements and strategic marketing programmes will contribute positively to our operating performance.

“Looking ahead, the group remains committed to advancing Jeju Shin Hwa World as a distinguished, sustainable and internationally competitive integrated resort destination.”
