Malaysian gaming product distributor RGB International Bhd saw its profit fall 29% year-on-year to MYR10.2 million (US$2.5 million) for the three months to 30 June 2026, despite a solid increase in revenue from the group’s core Sales and Marketing segment.

In a filing, RGB said the decline in profit was due to impairment losses on property, plant and equipment and allowance for expected credit losses on trade receivables, as well as a less favorable product mix.

However, consolidated revenue actually grew by 15% to MYR109.6 million (US$27.2 million). This included a 20% rise in revenue from Sales and Marketing to MYR93.1 million (US$23.1 million), although segment profit fell 21% to MYR12.0 million (US$3.0 million). Conversely, revenue from the Technical Support and Management declined 3% to MYR15.8 million (US$3.9 million) although profit grew by 41% to MYR1.39 million (US$344,670).

Group EBITDA for the second quarter fell 21% to MYR14.1 million (US$3.5 million).

In commentary accompanying its 2Q26 results, RGB said it remains “cautiously optimistic” on its short-term prospects.

“The performance of the regional gaming industry is expected to be influenced by regulatory developments, macroeconomic conditions, consumer spending patterns and tourism trends within the group’s principal markets, including the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam,” RGB explained.

“Leveraging on its established position as a leading gaming machines and equipment distributor and machine concessionaire, the group will continue to pursue suitable expansion opportunities, operational enhancements and potential project rollouts across these markets, while maintaining operational resilience.”
