Latest data from Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicates that the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) sector delivered a strong performance in the second quarter of 2026. Driven by a marked increase in exhibition attendees, alongside dual growth in non-local visitors and per-capita spending of MICE tourists, MICE events generated MOP$1.59 billion (US$197 million) in revenue for Macau’s non-gaming sectors during the quarter, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 54.8%.
A total of 499 MICE events were held in Macau in the second quarter, remaining flat compared to the same period last year. However, the total number of participants and attendees reached 314,000, representing a sharp year-on-year increase of 37.6%.
Among these, exhibitions increased by three to 18 events, attracting 257,000 attendees – a surge of 41.0%. The exhibitions brought together 1,882 exhibitors and 17,357 professional visitors. International exhibitors and international professional visitors accounted for 16.8% and 21.4% of their respective totals, up by 1.8 and 2.7 percentage points year-on-year.
Meanwhile, meetings and conferences totaled 463, down by six year-on-year, but participants bucked the trend by rising 29.3% to 54,000. Additionally, incentive events increased by three year-on-year to 18.
Taking the first half of 2026 as a whole, Macau hosted a total of 918 MICE events, staying generally flat compared to the same period last year. The cumulative number of participants and attendees reached 494,000, recording a 16.0% increase. In the first half of the year, MICE activities cumulatively generated approximately MOP$2.43 billion (US$300 million) in revenue for local non-gaming industries, a significant growth of 44.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
