Macau concessionaire MGM China has declared an interim dividend of HK$0.25 per share for the six months ended 30 June 2026, representing HK$950 million (US$121 million) in aggregate or 50% of the group’s profit attributable to owners of the company for the period.
This follows an update to MGM China’s dividend policy last year that increased the maximum amount of consolidated profits it can pay to shareholders each year via regular dividends from 35% of profits to 50%.
In a Thursday filing accompanying its 1H26 financial results, the concessionaire said it had “resolved to declare the payment of the Interim Dividend after consideration of the Group’s latest general financial position, existing cash flow, capital requirements going forward and other factors that the Board considered relevant, and determined that the Group has sufficient resources, after the payment of the Interim Dividend, to finance its operations, development of its business, and investment commitments made by MGM Grand Paradise S.A. to the Macau Government under its Macau gaming concession.”
MGM China reported Thursday a profit attributable to the company for the first six months of the year of HK$1.90 billion (US$242 million), slightly down from HK$2.38 billion (US$303 million) a year earlier.
In parent company MGM Resorts’ 2Q26 results release last week, it was revealed that MGM China’s profit had been impacted by a higher intercompany branding license fee after MGM Resorts recently doubled the amount it charges for use of the MGM name.
Profit aside, MGM China reported a 4.4% year-on-year increase in operating revenue to HK$17.4 billion (US$2.22 billion) in the six months to 30 June 2026, including a 3.6% increase in casino revenue to HK$15.1 billion (US$1.93 million). This, it explained, was due to growth in main floor table games and slot machine gaming revenue, partially offset by lower VIP gaming revenue.
In VIP, MGM pointed to “lower VIP table games win percentages at MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI, together with a 23.5% decrease in VIP table games turnover to HK$45.1 billion (US$5.75 billion) at MGM COTAI, partially offset by a 69.2% increase in VIP table games turnover to HK$19.7 billion (US$2.51 billion) at MGM MACAU.”
Adjusted EBITDA in 1H26 fell slightly to HK$4.78 billion (US$609 million).
