Vietnam’s tourism industry continues to shine with the country welcoming a record 10.6 million international visitor arrivals in the first five months of 2026.
According to information from the General Statistics Office, the figure represents a 14.9% increase compared with the same period last year and includes a 17% rise in May alone to 1.78 million arrivals.
Local media outlet VnExpress cited the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has having attributed this growth to Vietnam’s reputation as a safe and stable destination amid global political uncertainty.
The nation’s top source markets are headed by mainland China and South Korea, with strong visitation also from the likes of Russia, Taiwan, Cambodia, the United States, India, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.
Vietnam is home to a handful of foreigner-only casinos and integrated resorts, plus two casinos granted permission to welcome locals under strict conditions – Corona Resort and Casino in Phu Quoc and the most recent addition in The Grand Ho Tram.
