Malaysia-based distributor RGB International Bhd reported a 19% year-on-year increase in revenue to MYR87.4 million (US$22.0 million) in the three months to 31 March 2026, buoyed by the strong performance of its core gaming product Sales and Marketing division. However, the result represented a 20% decline compared with the December 2025 quarter.
Releasing its 1Q26 financial results on Friday, RGB’s improved revenue did not translate into greater profit, which fell by 15% to MYR11.5 million (US$2.9 million) due to foreign exchange losses.
By segment, RGB’s Sales and Marketing division generated a 39% year-on-year increase in revenue to MYR70.3 million (US$17.7 million), with segment profit before tax up 25% to MYR8.6 million (US$2.2 million). The company said this was mainly due to higher number of products sold and variation in product mix.
In the Technical Support and Management division, revenue fell 28% to MYR16.4 million (US$4.1 million) and profit by 49% to MYR3.6 million (US$908,000) – primarily attributable to weaker performance at several key TSM outlets and the continued closure of certain TSM outlets in the Poipet region since beginning of June 2025.
The much smaller Engineering Services division saw revenue rise by 20% to MYR435,000 (US$110,000).
RGB said it remains “cautiously optimistic” on its prospects for the year, albeit with the regional gaming industry expected to be influenced by regulatory developments, macroeconomic conditions, consumer spending patterns and tourism trends within the Group’s principal markets. These include the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.
“Leveraging on its established position as a leading gaming machines and equipment distributor and machine concessionaire, the Group will continue to pursue suitable expansion opportunities, operational enhancements and potential project rollouts across these markets, while maintaining operational resilience,” RGB explained.
“The Group will continue to prioritize prudent cost management, operational efficiency and disciplined capital deployment while selectively pursuing strategic partnerships and market opportunities to strengthen its regional footprint. Barring any unforeseen adverse developments in regulatory, economic or market conditions, the Group expects to deliver a satisfactory performance for the financial year ending 31 December 2026.”
