Korea’s Paradise Co has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with the goal of nurturing core talent for the integrated resort industry and to promote related research.
The MoU was signed on 12 May, and announced this week, between Paradise and the UNLV William F. Harrah College of Hospitality.
It will see the two parties jointly develop exchange programs for students and faculty and promote collaborative research projects related to the integrated resort industry. They will also operate a variety of cooperative initiatives, including sharing information in the fields of education and research, special short-term academic programs, cultural exchange programs, executive education and joint workshops, according to information from Paradise.
The UNLV Harrah College of Hospitality is described as a world-class institution specializing in hospitality education and located in Las Vegas, traditionally the heart of the global IR industry. It is recognized as an influential educational institution in the fields of hotels, gaming, entertainment and tourism, and has earned a strong reputation for its practice-oriented education model.
Paradise said it will offer practical, on-site internship opportunities for UNLV hospitality students and will dispatch its own key talent to UNLV to participate in global-level field training programs. By doing so, it hopes to strengthen the competitiveness of Korea’s tourism and IR industries.
“It is very meaningful to collaborate with UNLV, the top institution in the field of hospitality,” said a Paradise spokesperson. “We will continue to actively pursue research and practical cooperation to contribute to the development of the IR industry and Korea’s tourism sector.”
Paradise operates three casinos in Seoul, Busan and Jeju as well as holding a controlling 55% stake in Incheon integrated resort Paradise City – a joint venture with Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings.
