Korean foreigner-only casino operator Paradise Co has announced a new governance structure under which it will implement co-CEOs.
The company will as of Friday 27 March see existing CEO Choi Jong-hwan joined by Lim Jun-shin, with each acting independently and focusing on strengthening operations, according to information contained in a filing.
Lim represents an internal promotion, having served within the company since 1992. Having filled various strategy and planning roles at Paradise Walkerhill Casino in Seoul and at the Paradise-Sega Sammy joint venture that runs the Paradise City integrated resort in Incheon, he was appointed Chief Casino Officer at Paradise Sega Sammy in 2021 and Chief Operating Officer at Paradise Sega Sammy in 2023. In 2025 he became COO overseeing multiple casinos.
Paradise explained that Lim brings strong casino operations experience to the dual CEO role.
In his opening remarks at the company’s 55th Annual Meeting on Friday, Choi noted that Paradise had enjoyed a second straight year of record earnings in 2025, with revenue up 7.3% year-on-year to KRW1.15 trillion (US$789 million) and operating profit up 14.9% to KRW156.4 billion (US$107 million).
He added that the group’s focus in 2025 would be on by advancing its integrated resort business, strengthening AI-based personalized customer services and enhancing brand competitiveness.
Paradise has already been working to enhance its offering over the past year, pointing to a need to improve its attractiveness to international visitors given rising regional competition and the impending launch of MGM Osaka – which threatens to bite into its core Japanese customer base – in 2030.
The company recently acquired an additional 501 hotel rooms near Paradise City via the purchase of the Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower.
It also opened a new VIP Lounge at Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport and has outlined plans to build a luxury hotel in Seoul.
