Australian lotteries giant The Lottery Corporation Limited (TLC) has unveiled a new operating model, including a raft of changes to the makeup of the executive team, in what it has described as a move to support the next stage of its strategy and accelerate growth.
In the wake of long-time Managing Director and CEO Sue van der Merwe’s recent retirement, TLC said changes to the composition and accountabilities of the Executive Leadership Team would take effect from 1 July 2026.
They include the appointment of Callum Mulvihill as Chief Operating Officer – Lotteries, tasked with growing the core lotteries product portfolio and maximizing performance across TLC’s retail network and digital wholesale partnerships.
Loren Somerville will be appointed Chief Operating Officer – Digital with a mandate to drive digital lottery sales, deliver world-class app and web experiences and explore new opportunities in adjacent lottery entertainment categories, while Antony Moore will become Chief Operating Officer – Keno, bringing together the company’s venue-based and online Keno operations under a single leader.
TLC added that it will introduce three enterprise service units to support the three customer-facing business units: “Financial & Corporate Services”, “Strategy” and “People & Brand”. The enterprise services units will provide governance, shared services and alignment across the enterprise, TLC said.
It also revealed its new-look Executive Leadership Team to oversee this process, with Adam Newman named Chief Financial Officer and his role expanding to include accountability for Legal, Risk, Cyber and Technology services. Rob Ure will be appointed Chief Strategy Officer and Michelle Williams appointed Chief People and Brand Officer.
Conversely, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer Andrew Shepherd and Chief Legal & Risk Officer and Company Secretary Nicholas Allton will be leaving the company.
“We have a strong foundation and our strategy has served the company well, but we can unlock more value,” said TLC’s Managing Director and CEO, Wayne Pickup.
“This new structure gives us the clarity and accountability to accelerate our evolution as a digital entertainment company, concentrate on local market growth and make faster, better decisions.”
