Chow Tai Fook’s Henry Cheng and Galaxy Entertainment Group Chairman Francis Lui have again ranked inside the top 10 in the 2026 Forbes list of Hong Kong’s 50 Richest.
Cheng and family ranked third on this year’s list with a fortune of US$26.1 billion, behind only businessman Li-Ka Shing – who topped the list yet again with a fortune of US$45.1 billion – and Peter and Martin Lee, heirs to Henderson Land Development, with US$34.9 billion.
Cheng oversees jewelry giant Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) but also has extensive gaming interests – most notably the 10% stake in SJM Holdings parent STDM that his father acquired from Stanley Ho.
CTFE also owns 4.99% of Australia’s Star Entertainment Group, a controlling 75% stake in Hoiana Resort & Golf in Vietnam and Baha Mar in the Bahamas.
Lui, meanwhile, has long overseen Macau casino giant Galaxy Entertainment Group but was officially promoted from Vice Chairman to Chairman in 2024 following the passing of his father, Lui Che Woo. He entered the Forbes rich list in 2025 in ninth spot and retains that position this year with a US$12.7 billion fortune.
The other gambling-related names on this year’s list are MGM China’s Chairperson and Executive Director Pansy Ho in 23rd with US$4.5 billion and SJM’s Angela Leong – the fourth wife of Stanley Ho – in 44th with US$2.15 billion.
Forbes said the collective net worth of the 50 richest expanded to an all-time high of US$366 billion in 2026, up from US$301 billion last year, thanks to a raft of IPOs and a slowly recovering property sector.
