MGM has opened a new “City Terminal for Hong Kong International Airport” at MGM COTAI – making it just the second Macau integrated resort operator after Sands to offer flight check-in services and the first concessionaire to establish a terminal within an integrated resort.
The City Terminal for Hong Kong International Airport provides check-in services for flights to Hong Kong International Airport and Zhuhai Airport from the B1 bus stop at MGM COTAI. Cross-border transportation is operated by CTS Hong Kong Co, Ltd. Passengers may choose to board a shuttle after check-in or proceed independently to the airport.
According to MGM, the City Terminal self-service check-in and real-time flight information services operate daily from 9am to 6:30pm.
The City Terminal also offers multiple cross-border transportation options: passengers can reach Hong Kong International Airport via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge in approximately 90 minutes or connect to Zhuhai Airport via the Hengqin Port in about 60 minutes.
Four self-service check-in kiosks are available on-site: two for Hong Kong International Airport, one for Zhuhai Airport and one dedicated to Air Macau. However, the MGM Cotai terminal currently does not offer checked baggage services.
MGM Cotai’s check-in service makes it the second concessionaire in Macau to provide this facility. Sands launched check-in services in 2024, though not within a terminal.
“This will play a positive role in attracting international visitors and encouraging longer stays in the city,” said Kenneth Feng, CEO and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited.
“In the past, travelers eligible for the 144- or 240-hour visa free transit policies might only have passed through Macau briefly.
“The new city airport terminal extends the check-in services of HKIA and Zhuhai Airport directly to MGM COTAI, enabling our guests to connect with both airports more efficiently and enjoy a smoother cross border travel experience, further reinforcing Macau’s role as a regional transportation hub”
