Foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported casino revenue of KRW36.6 billion (US$25.2 million) in January, up 6.6% year-on-year and a slight 0.8% higher than in December.
The improvement came on a 14.7% year-on-year improvement in drop amount to KRW306.0 billion (US$211 million), although this was 7.4% lower on a sequential basis.
The January result included a 5.3% year-on-year improvement in table games revenue to KRW33.1 billion (US$22.8 million) and a 19.9% rise in machine revenue to KRW3.51 billion (US$2.42 million).
The solid numbers echo similar growth being experienced across the sector, with both Paradise Co and Lotte Tour also reporting rising revenues in recent days.
GKL, which this week dropped a plan to acquire the site of its Seven Luck Casino at Seoul Dragon City, previously reported casino revenue of KRW425.3 billion (US$294 million) in FY25.
GKL operates three casinos in South Korea in Seoul and Busan under the Seven Luck brand.
