Singapore’s Changi Airport saw a record high of passengers in 2025 with around 70 million passing through during the year – exceeding the previous record of 68.3 million in 2019.
The new high, reported by The Straits Times, was revealed by Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow during the launch of a new exhibition detailing the vision, design and innovations that form Changi’s under-construction Terminal 5.
Siow also stated that the record 2025 figure proves that the government was right in proceeding with its plans to build Terminal 5, which once open in the mid 2030s will increase the airport’s passenger capacity by 55% from 90 million currently to 140 million. Changi Airport had handled 67.7 million passengers in 2024.
According to The Straits Times, operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) will launch the tender for Terminal 5’s above-ground superstructure in the coming weeks.
The “In the Making” exhibition will run from 6 January until March at Terminal 3’s Arrival Hall and is free for all visitors. Changi Airport Group said it offers a “unique perspective on how aviation has shaped Singapore’s story and continues to drive its growth into the future with T5”.
