Resorts World Sentosa parent Genting Singapore could look to debt financing to fund the remainder of its SG$6.8 billion (US$5.3 billion) RWS 2.0 expansion project, according to Morgan Stanley analysts.

In a recent note following a meeting with the property’s new-look management team, the investment bank said Genting Singapore still has around SG$5 billion (US$3.9 billion) to invest into Phase 2 of RWS 2.0, with debt financing a “viable option” – particularly in what it describes as a low-interest rate environment. This follows the recent completion of Phase 1.5 projects such as the Oceanarium, retail precinct WEAVE and high-end hotel The Laurus.

Morgan Stanley’s Praveen Choudhary, Anson Lee and Stephen Grambling said they remain cautious and await clear signs of market share gains before turning more positive on the resort’s short-term prospects, despite investor expectations that the Phase 1.5 additions will drive strong growth in FY26.

As reported by Inside Asian Gaming, the new offerings that will form a central part of RWS 2.0 are to include a four-story world-class retail and dining podium with entertainment offerings, two new luxury hotels featuring 700 keys and an 88-meter tall “light sculpture” attraction alongside an “immersive, experiential mountain trail”.
