The Macau government collected gaming taxes of MOP$7.06 billion (US$882 million) in October, down 17.2% from September’s post-pandemic high of MOP$8.53 billion (US$1.06 billion) but 6.2% higher than the same month last year.

The October tax figure correlates to Macau’s gross gaming revenues for the month of September, when GGR came in at MOP$18.3 billion (US$2.28 billion) – up 6.0% year-on-year.

For the first 10 months of 2025 combined, the government’s revenue from gaming taxes reached MOP$77.5 billion (US$9.68 billion), up 6.1% compared with the same period in 2024.

Total government revenue for the period was MOP$92.6 billion (US$11.6 billion), with gaming tax accounting for 78.9% of the total.

The government has announced an annual budget of MOP$93.1 billion (US$11.6 billion) for gaming duty revenue in FY25, meaning tax for the first 10 months of 2025 has reached 87.5% of the budget.
