The Macau government collected gaming tax revenue of MOP$88.1 billion (US$11.0 billion) in 2024, representing a 35.0% increase over the MOP$65.3 billion (US$8.15 billion) collected in 2023.

According to information from Macau’s Financial Services Bureau (DSF), the 2024 total included gaming tax of MOP$7.08 billion (US$884 million) in December – up 14.4% year-on-year although down 13.0% from November.

The December tax figure correlates to Macau’s gross gaming revenues for the month of November, when GGR came in at MOP$18.4 billion (US$2.30 billion).

The government has already announced its gaming tax take for January of MOP$7.19 billion (US$896 million), with the annual budget for gaming tax set at MOP$93.1 billion (US$11.6 billion).

The final 2024 gaming tax figure means the gaming industry contributed 80.5% of Macau’s total tax revenue of MOP$109.5 billion (US$13.7 billion).
