According to the list of Macau’s principal officials announced by the State Council, the current director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Adriano Ho, will be redesignated as director of the Macau Customs under incoming Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai.

A new head of Macau’s gaming regulator has not yet been announced, with a separate announcement expected on that matter in the coming weeks.

Cheong Weng Chon and Wong Sio Chak will continue to serve as Secretary for Administration and Law and Secretary for Security respectively, however there have been a raft of new appointments including O Lam as Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture and Tai Kin Ip – current director of Economic and Technological Development Bureau – as Secretary for Economy and Finance. It had been rumored that O Lam was in line to become Secretary for Economy and Finance.

The current director of the Environmental Protection Bureau, Tam Wai Man, will became Secretary for Transport and Works while current Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ao Leong U, will become director of the Commission of Audit and Ao Leong Sheong the Commissioner of the Commission Against Corruption.

Outgoing DICJ director Ho has been in the role for four-and-half years since replacing Paulo Martins Chan on 10 June 2020,

Before becoming DICJ Director, he was an advisor to the Secretary for Security and had previously worked as head of the Macao Sub-Bureau of the China National Central Bureau of INTERPOL from 2004 to 2010. He also led the Judiciary Police Criminal Investigation Department from 2010 to 2012 and was head of the Gaming-related and Economic Crimes Investigation Department from 2012 to 2014.
