Korean integrated resort Paradise City, located in Incheon outside of Seoul, says it has reopened its foreigner-only casino following an eight-day closure due to staff testing positive to COVID-19.
The reopening comes just 48 hours after management stated via a notice on the resort’s website that the casino would stay closed “indefinitely.”
Paradise City initially closed for three days from 1 September after one staff member tested positive, but extended the closure of most facilities until 9 September when another five resort staff also tested positive.
On Wednesday, another notice posted on the website declared the casino was open again, along with Paradise Hotel, outdoor swimming pool and some F&B outlets. Remaining closed are Art Paradiso Hotel, the indoor swimming pool gym facilities and the cinema.
“As informed from the quarantine authority that an employee was a confirmed case of COVID-19, Paradise City closed the entire facility and carried out high-intensity precision quarantine in close consultation with the authority,” Wednesday’s notice read.
“In addition, in order to prevent the spread of additional infections, all employees including outsourced employees took COVID-19 test, and only employees who received negative results were allowed to return to work.
“We will continue to put safety first, and do our best to ensure that our guests can enjoy Paradise City with confidence by strictly following quarantine guidelines and preventive measures.”
