The main gaming floors of some of Macau’s largest properties remained devastatingly quiet this week, even if there were more noises suggesting a loosening of border restrictions with Guangdong Province may come sooner rather than later.

According to Inside Asian Gaming’s weekly spot count of 11 properties, there were an average of 19 players on the main gaming floors of each property during any given midweek afternoon – up from 14 a week ago – of which six were at the tables and 13 on slots.

As has been the case in each of the past five weeks, MGM Macau was the busiest with nine people playing table games and 30 playing slots, while Sands Cotai Central was again quietest with just three slots players. The second most active gaming floor was at Grand Lisboa where 11 players occupied tables and 15 were playing slots.

The 11 IRs IAG visited were City of Dreams, Galaxy Macau, Grand Lisboa, MGM Cotai, MGM Macau, Parisian Macao, Sands Cotai Central, StarWorld, Venetian Macao, Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. All counts were conducted on the afternoons of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
