Jupiters become The Star Gold Coast

Australia’s Jupiters Hotel & Casino has officially changed its name, becoming The Star Gold Coast as of 30 March.

Queensland’s first casino when it opened its doors in 1985, the rebranding is part of an AU$345 million makeover ahead of next year’s Commonwealth Games with six new food and beverage outlets, 596 refurbished rooms and a luxury poolside experience among the features already completed. A new six star hotel tower will be open by 2018.

More than 800 items and 130 signs have been transformed as part of the property’s rebranding, which follows parent company The Star Entertainment Group’s transition to a consolidated brand in November 2015. The Group also operates The Star in Sydney and Treasury in Brisbane.

“The refurbishment of our existing facilities has served as a catalyst in providing the standards in product excellence and guest services that The Star brand represents,” said Managing Director Queensland, Geoff Hogg.

“The Gold Coast’s reputation as a must visit destination continues to strengthen with both leisure and business travellers, so we are working to create a broad offering that will help to support this well into the future.”
