An intermediate court has upheld guilty verdicts against four criminals involved in the city’s largest online gambling case.
From 2006 to 2007, a gang of 20 led by Qian Baochun, Zou Jun and Liu Biqing, opened accounts at overseas gambling web sites and organized online gambling.
They received commissions on the amount of money spent. The gang earned a total of about 6.6 billion yuan ($963 million).
The four appealed their guilty verdicts to Shanghai No 2 Intermediate People’s Court, which rejected the appeal recently.
