The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) alongside representatives of Macau’s six concessionaires and other tourism bodies traveled to South Korea on Thursday to take part in promotional activities and to meet with the Tourism & Sports Bureau of Seoul Metropolitan Government and Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA).
According to the MGTO, a large-scale roadshow is being held at the Seoul Times Square, where the concessionaires have set up booths to promote Macau’s comprehensive tourism facilities.
The roadshow, running for four consecutive days, is titled “Experience Macao Unlimited” and themed “Moment of Macao”.
Speaking at the event, MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said the number of flights between Macau and Korea has continued to increase during the summer.
“I hope this roadshow will provide a good opportunity to publicize the latest development of Macau as a ‘World Center of Tourism and Leisure’ and to attract Korean visitors to come to Macau to experience new elements of tourism,” she added.
Shortly after its arrival, the MGTO met with Vice Director General of the Tourism & Sports Bureau of Seoul Metropolitan Government, Cho Sung Ho, the Chairman of Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA), Henry Oh, plus representatives of Korean airlines and decision makers from the Korean travel trade to discuss further tourism cooperation opportunities.
The MGTO also held promotional activities in Hong Kong from 7 to 9 July and previously conducted roadshows in Beijing, Qingdao, Portugal and Thailand.
