CHAIRMAN AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
Paradise Entertainment Ltd

POWER SCORE: 591
POSITION LAST YEAR: 49

CLAIMS TO FAME

  • Founder of Macau gaming equipment manufacturer LT Game
  • Changed the face of Macau’s casino floors with his Live Multi Game Machines

PARADISE ENTERTAINMENT founder Jay Chun appears to have taken Macau’s calls for diversification to heart.

In August this year the company revealed that it has developed a range of smart and 5G wireless products that can be used in the home and, eventually, integrated with the company’s gaming and entertainment businesses. It’s worth noting that R&D is at the very heart of Paradise Entertainment, and it is this R&D focus that allowed Chun to play a key role in Macau’s unique history via his Multi-Game terminals more than a decade ago.

The company has also promised to “continue investing in research and development … on electronic gaming equipment and systems” given the outperformance of those products during COVID-19, with a particular focus on 5G, AI and other related high-tech products.

“The Group’s latest research accomplishments including smart wear, smart home and 5G wireless terminal high-tech products adhere to the trend of transformation of high-tech development in wireless edge of 5G and AI,” Paradise said recently.

Meanwhile, Paradise reported a loss of HK$21.5 million (US$2.8 million) in the first six months of 2021, widened from a HK$11.3 million (US$1.5 million) loss in 1H20 despite revenue from the electronic gaming equipment and systems business segment almost tripling.

Chun knows technology took him here. Now he is betting on technology to lead the recovery.
