Fifteen Melco Resorts & Entertainment have celebrated a “life-transforming moment” who graduated from various academic programs at the Whole Person Development Event held at City of Dreams last week.
The occasion also saw 100 Melco colleagues graduate from various Melco-sponsored programs, from diploma programs in hospitality and gaming management, the Back to School General Education Program and being awarded Melco scholarships which are available to both employees and their immediate family members.
A total of 15 local employees graduated from the in-house driven Bachelor’s degree program in partnership with Edinburg Napier University.
The celebration was officiated by Dr Alexis Tam Chon Weng, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Xu Ting, Director-General of Cultural and Educational Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau SAR; Lau Pun Lap, Director, Policy Research Office of the Macau SAR Government; Paulo Chan, Director of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau; Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of Macau Government Tourist Office; Chang Kun Hong, Deputy Director, Tertiary Education Services Office; Kong Ngai, Head of Department of Education, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Professor Andrea Nolan, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Edinburgh Napier University; Tina Diamantina Coimbra, Director of Tourism and Hotel School, Institute for Tourism Studies; Professor Glenn McCartney, Associate Dean of FBA, University of Macau; Cheang Mio Han, Hester, Board of Management – Secretary-General, Macao Polytechnic Institute; Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO, Melco Resorts & Entertainment; and Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility of Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
“We are extremely proud of our colleagues, who have demonstrated perseverance and determination to successfully attain personal and professional goals. We are committed to Whole Person Development, and ultimately, strengthening each individual in the community makes for a stronger community,” said Ho.
