Caesars Entertainment Corp and partner Gamblit gaming have launched Nevada’s first skills-based gaming trial at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip.
The interactive gaming tables allow for two to four players to compete head-to-head, with Gamblit offering two titles up for trial – Cannonbeard’s Treasure and Gamblit Poker.
Unlike traditional slot machines, the games are played using consoles with players seated around a flat table and interacting with a touch-screen monitor.
Gamblit has described Cannonbeard’s Treasure as a combination of blackjack and naval warfare, challenging players to fill their hand without winning or busting, initiating a burndown. During the burndown, a set of additional cards are dealt and the player who gets closest to the objective, without going over, wins a chest of gold.
In Gamblit Poker, each player starts with two cards, followed by a single deck of cards shown in rapid succession in the middle of the table. Players must quickly virtually grab the cards they need in order to complete the best possible poker hand.
Pending final regulatory approval, additional Gamblit games will be installed at various Caesars Entertainment properties throughout much of Nevada including Caesars Palace, The LINQ Hotel & Casino and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. Harrah’s Resort Southern California will be the first to debut the skill-based gaming tables in the state of California.
