The Macau government collected a total of MOP$74.6 billion (US$9.22 billion) in gaming taxes for the first nine months of 2026 combined, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.9% according to latest data from the Financial Services Bureau.

The figure included a 1.6% year-on-year decrease in gaming taxes in September to MOP$8.39 billion (US$1.04 billion), although this was 7.2% higher than the amount collected in August.

The September tax revenue corresponds to Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for August, which totaled MOP$21.9 billion (US$2.71 billion) – a 1.2% decrease year-on-year.

The data also shows that total government revenue has reached MOP$88.7 billion (US$11 billion) so far in 2026, with gaming taxes accounting for 84.1% of the total.

The Macau government has set its budgeted gaming tax revenue for fiscal year 2026 at MOP$92.7 billion (US$11.5 billion), meaning the MOP$74.6 billion in tax revenue in the first nine months of the year represents 80.6% of the annual budget.
