Singapore’s betting tax income increased by 11.9% year-on-year in the financial year ending 31 March 2026, totaling SG$3.6 billion (US$2.84 billion), according to the latest annual report by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.

Released on Friday, the IRAS annual report indicated that betting taxes made up 3.7% of the total tax collected during the period. In total, the IRAS collected SG$97.3 billion (US$76.8 billion), or 74.7% of the Singapore government’s operating revenue and 12.3% of its GDP.

The betting taxes figure gathers together both Gambling Duties and Casino Tax; the IRAS doesn’t publish a standalone figure for each.

Singapore applies a differentiated casino tax rate, with different figures for “Premium Players” -– defined as someone who opens a deposit account with a casino operator with a minimum amount of SG$100,000 (US$76,900) – and “Other players.”

The figure also varies depending on the amount of gross gaming revenue in a calendar year.

In Tier 1 – with GGR under SG$2.4 billion (US$1.89 billion) in the year, premium player GGR has a tax rate of 8%, whereas other players are taxed at 18% on up to SG$3.1 billion (USW$2.45 billion) in GGR. In Tier 2, premium player GGR over SG$2.4 billion has a 12% tax rate, with other player GGR tax at 22% for GGR over SG$3.1 billion.

However, if the casino operator fails to meet its development targets for its integrated resort, the higher tier rates of 12% and 22% are applied during the period in which the operator “failed to meet its obligations,” indicates the IRAS.

For sports betting, lotteries and sweepstakes, the gambling duty is calculated differently from casinos (see chart below).
