Sands China on Friday declared an interim dividend of HK$0.50 per share for the six months ended 30 June 2026, representing an aggregate of HK$4.05 billion (US$516 million) and a step up from the HK$0.25 per share declared a year earlier.

This comes after the company reported Friday a profit of HK$398 million in 1H26, down 3.6% year-on-year despite an 11.1% increase in net revenues to HK$30.4 billion (US$3.88 billion). This, it explained, was primarily due to increases in casino expenses and specifically sales and marketing costs to attract patrons plus payroll and related expenses related to Macau’s competitive environment.

Adjusted property EBITDA in 1H26 fell by 3.4% year-on-year to US$1.07 billion.

According to Sands China’s audited financial, net casino revenues for the period grew by 12.0% year-on-year to US$2.93 billion thanks to increases in table games and slot volumes, partially offset by decreases in table games win and slot hold percentages. These net casino revenues were also negatively impacted by higher patron incentives in the current year due to the aforementioned competitive environment.

Hotel room revenues were 5.9% higher at US$430 million on more rooms being available following the conversion of the Sheraton towers to Londoner Grand, which was completed in April 2025.

However, the increase in casino-related costs saw total operating expenses also rise by 14.2% to US$3.32 billion.

Parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp recently revealed a 0.8% year-on-year and 15.6% quarter-on-quarter decline in Sands China’s 2Q26 revenues to US$1.78 billion, with “unusually low hold in rolling play” negatively impacting the quarter’s results.

That hasn’t stopped the group from continuing to invest into its properties, with a comprehensive renovation of The Venetian Macao now underway and scheduled for completion by early 2028.
