Sands China’s annual large-scale Sands Shopping Carnival officially opened on Thursday, offering free admission for all attendees for the duration of the four-day event.

This year’s Sands Shopping Carnival is being held once again at the Cotai Expo of The Venetian Macao, running from 23 to 26 July. Featuring more than 580 exhibition booths, the event covers a wide range of themes, including household products, food and wine, a food court, cultural and creative offerings, Sands retailers, Macau specialties and souvenirs, as well as parent-child entertainment and sports experiences.

At the opening ceremony, Sands China’s Executive Vice Chairman, Dr Wilfred Wong, said the event has attracted more than 640,000 visits over the past six years and has received strong support from residents and visitors from the Greater Bay Area.

He added, “Sands China will continue to leverage the event’s strengths as a signature attraction to create more development opportunities for Macau brands, share joy with residents and visitors, and contribute to Macau’s moderate economic diversification and the city’s development as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’.”

Originally introduced during the pandemic to support Macau’s SMEs, the Sands Shopping Carnival has served for seven consecutive years as a large exhibition and sales platform for Macau’s SMEs, community partners and Sands retailers. Participation is free of charge for exhibitors.

Sands China said that since its debut in 2020, the event has provided 4,000 complimentary exhibition booths, helping Macau SMEs and Sands retailers expand their customer base and increase market exposure, while further promoting Macau consumer brands.
