Macau welcomed more than 403,000 visitor arrivals during the now concluded three-day Birthday of Buddha long weekend, which ran from 23 to 25 May.
According to information from the Public Security Police Force (PSP), Macau’s various border checkpoints recorded nearly 2.18 million inbound and outbound movements over the three days, among which visitor arrivals and departures accounted for approximately 823,000 passenger trips. More than 403,000 visitor arrivals were recorded.
In terms of traffic distribution across major checkpoints, the Border Gate remained the primary immigration channel, recording over 167,000 visitor arrivals within the three days. It was followed closely by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Checkpoint, which registered over 98,000 visitor arrivals, demonstrating a significant diversion effect. Meanwhile, the Hengqin Checkpoint recorded over 67,000 visitor arrivals.
The PSP also announced its latest annual statistics on Monday, revealing that as of midnight on 24 May, the cumulative volume of passenger clearances across all local checkpoints this year officially surpassed the 100 million threshold. This milestone was reached a full 14 days earlier than last year, reflecting the strong momentum of recovery in Macau’s cross-border personnel exchanges and tourism economy.
